After more than five years with the Republican Party of Kentucky, Jake Cox has joined the campaign for U.S. Sen. Rand Paul’s re-election as his Deputy Campaign Manager.
Cox most recently served the Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) as their Director of Research and Digital Strategy AKA opposition research. He will now employ that research against likely Democratic nominee Charles Booker in Sen. Paul’s search for a third term in the United States Senate.
This is not his first stint with the Paul campaign, Cox served for five months as a strategic communications consultant for Paul’s 2016 re-election contest from July to November of that year.
Cox first cut his teeth in Kentucky politics in 2014 working to ensure U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, garnered re-election. In the 2014 race, Cox served as what’s known as a “tracker,” which included following then-Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Alison Lundergan Grimes around the state searching for opportunities to exploit.
