A PowerPoint presentation dated one day before Jan. 6 rioting at the U.S. Capitol details the ways the Trump administration intended to contest the 2020 Presidential Election results, including calling into question Gov. Andy Beshear’s narrow victory over former Republican Gov. Matt Bevin.
Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows turned over the 38-page presentation to a U.S. House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol. The PowerPoint, entitled “Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan,” contain a series of recommendations for President Trump and his administration to contest the outcome of the presidential election.
The presentation includes a slide titled,” It’s Been Happening for Awhile – CNN Video From Kentucky.”
The video presumably meant to prove Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud, as Bevin, who Trump campaigned for a day before Election Day in 2019, lost to Beshear by 5,000 votes. The election was the closest-ever by percentage. Bevin conceded defeat a week after the election after a recanvass of the election results showed no significant change to the outcome of the race.
The recommendations presented to Trump included briefing Congress of unproven “foreign interference” in the Election, and then declaring a National Security Emergency declaring electronic voting in all states invalid.
