Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner and Republican candidate for governor Ryan Quarles ended his year with a dismal fundraising haul.
Quarles saw his lowest campaign donations to date with $54,274 raised in the 4th quarter of 2022. He has now raised $930,002 in the campaign for the GOP gubernatorial nomination. Quarles enters the election year with $874,568 in cash on hand, according to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance (KREF).
Overall, Quarles still finds himself in a relatively good place in campaign funding. He was outraised by Kelly Craft who garnered $547,632, but she has been spending heavily, leaving her with just $230,000 in her campaign coffers. However, she can turn to her millions to bolster the campaign financing.
Daniel Cameron posted $259,000 in the 4th quarter of 2022 and heads into the election year with $712,000 in the bank.

With more than 2600 donors contributing less than $250 and more than 80% of our donors residing in Kentucky, it’s clear that no other campaign in this race has the ability to connect with Kentucky grassroots conservatives like General Cameron. We’re confident that support will only grow in the months ahead.”
There are a dozen Republicans expected to file to compete for the May nomination contest. The deadline to file for the office is Friday, Jan. 6.
