As time winds down the candidates in the Republican primary for Kentucky governor are zooming to make their last minute pitch to voters before Tuesday, and some are finding speed bumps along the way.
On Tuesday evening, Daniel Cameron, Ryan Quarles, and Eric Deters met for the final debate of the campaign. Kelly Craft skipped the debate, and instead appeared on FOX News – where she was met with three-minutes of difficulty as host Laura Ingraham pushed her for skipping the public forum and repeatedly cut her off.

At the Tuesday night debate, it was Cameron who was in the hot seat as he leaned into a defense of former President Donald Trump, who was found guilty for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s.
Cameron doubled down on his support from Trump in the debate hosted by FOX 56 in Lexington.
“I don’t know the specifics of the civil complaint, and I understand it was something that involved something 30 years ago. but I’m honored to have President Trump’s endorsement,” Cameron said.
Meanwhile, Craft is looking to other GOP national figures to bolster her chances to take on Gov. Andy Beshear in the fall. Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo shot a video endorsement for Craft which was released on Wednesday afternoon. The endorsement comes on the heels of 2024 presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy’s announced support for the former ambassador.
The primary election is May 16.
