Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg has tapped two strategic advisors from the city’s business community to attract economic development.
Riggs Lewis and Steve Miller, both of Louisville, will work in a volunteer capacity directly with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Pat Mulloy and the city’s economic development team.
“Riggs and Steve are two tested and trusted individuals who understand what our city needs to grow fast, grow strong and grow sustainably,” said Mayor Greenberg. “As advisors, their expertise is invaluable, and as volunteers, they embody the best of community service. I’m honored that they’ve both agreed to help Pat, myself and the team at Louisville Metro Government as we plan a bright economic future.”
Lewis currently serves as system vice president for Health Policy at Norton Healthcare where he manages federal, state and local external relations and regulatory and legislative matters. An attorney prior to his role at Norton Healthcare, Riggs founded and ran the Rotunda Group, a government affairs and business development firm that represented some of the region’s largest employers. He currently serves as the chair of LouMed and is spearheading the redevelopment of Louisville’s downtown medical district.
Miller is an attorney and has built a distinguished career in public affairs, politics, law and community service. He is currently president of Saber-21, LLC, a communications and business strategy firm, and practices law in his own firm. Previously, Miller served for 17 years as president and CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity, a national nonprofit, and its predecessor organizations located in Washington, D.C.
Both Lewis and Miller will serve in a volunteer, part-time capacity with Louisville Metro Government.
“Louisville has all the right tools to build the strongest economy possible, whether in the public, private, educational or nonprofit sectors,” said Deputy Mayor Mulloy. “If we can get these pieces moving together correctly, the sky is the limit. I have the greatest confidence in Riggs and Steve to work with our already outstanding economic development team and partners and to help deliver big results to Louisville.”
