After several weeks of hand ringing the governor, and several other state Democratic candidates have confirmed they will attend the Fancy Farm political speaking in West Kentucky on the first Saturday in August.
Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Republican rival Attorney General Daniel Cameron will face off on August 5 for the first time in the General Election and amid a slew of campaign finance controversies.
Beshear had been slow to respond to Fancy Farm organizers about his participation and told the media he was still figuring out his schedule earlier this month. He has not participated in the yearly tradition since he ran for governor in 2019.
Cameron had previously confirmed his attendance. Along with Beshear, several other statewide Democratic hopefuls are expected to attend the picnic and political speaking, which is known for its unruly crowds and brash talking points.
