Days after Attorney General Daniel Cameron named himself the law enforcement candidate in the Republican primary for governor his rival released an ad claiming he “failed Kentucky’s law enforcement.”
Former Ambassador Kelly Craft released a statewide ad on Monday, saying she will “fight the big government takeover and support our local police.”
“The more we find out about Daniel, the more we learn how he is siding with Joe Biden over Kentuckians. Saying that he ‘appreciates’ the Biden DOJ’s work that led to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) entering into a consent decree with the federal government is a slap in the face to the hardworking Louisville police officers and Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). He even dismissed the FOP’s concerns with the consent decree being unfair,” said Craft spokesman Weston Loyd.
“As governor, Kelly will stand up for our law enforcement and provide them with the support and resources they need to keep our communities safe. We should be protecting and supporting our law enforcement, not imposing a woke agenda on them that makes it harder to do their jobs.”
Craft has spent more than $7 million so far in the Republican nomination for governor. The latest polling has her trailing Cameron by single digits.
