Former Greater Louisville Inc CEO Kent Oyler and his wife Kathy are throwing their support for Louisville Mayor behind Republican candidate Bill Dieruf.
Oyler is hosting a meet and greet for Dieruf as he challenges Democratic nominee Craig Greenberg in the November election to be the next mayor of Louisville.
GLI recently held a forum with Greenberg and Dieruf but says despite their former CEO backing Dieruf they are remaining neutral as an organization.
“GLI is a nonpartisan organization and does not endorse or contribute to candidates in any election,” said a spokesperson for GLI. “As former CEO, Mr. Oyler is no longer employed by GLI and his political affiliations and contributions do not reflect the Chamber.”
Dieruf, who is the Mayor of Jeffersontown, is a member of the GLI Board of Directors representing the city of Jeffersontown, which is a GLI member.
The event hosted by Oyler is taking place on Wednesday and includes sponsors Mac Brown, who is the Republican Party of Kentucky Chairman; Scott Brinkman, Gov. Matt Bevin’s secretary of the executive cabinet; and John McCarthy, a GOP lobbyist.
