Days after controversy surrounded her first ad on drugs, Kelly Craft has released a new spot from the southern border wall.
The 30-second ad targeting Republican primary voters for governor blames President Joe Biden and Gov. Andy Beshear for “ignoring the border crisis.”
“Right here in Kentucky we have our own border crisis,” Craft says to the camera in the highly produced television spot.
In the ad, Craft says we “may not be able to build a wall” around Kentucky, but if she is elected governor, she promises to secure Kentucky’s borders, back up the police, and go after drug dealers.
In addition to Craft, Agriculture Commissioner and GOP primary candidate Ryan Quarles is also talking about Fentanyl coming from Mexico. With multiple ads and interviews conducted around the topic, it signals the likelihood that drugs coming from beyond Kentucky’s landlocked borders must poll high among the issues for Kentucky Republican voters.
Craft is one of 12 Republicans seeking the GOP nomination on May 16.
