A Kentucky company just announced a partnership with a political juggernaut for Donald Trump and his allies.
Lexington-based Rubicon Technologies, which focuses on the digital marketplace for waste and recycling announced on Thursday their strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies to enhance and expand their data, analytics, and reporting capabilities, according to a news release.
Palantir is a software company that deals in big data analytics which is run by Peter Thiel, a tech billionaire and Republican political activist that was one of President Trump’s largest donors in 2016. After a funding break in 2020 Thiel is again making political waves backing 16 U.S. House and Senate candidates this year, including J.D. Vance in Ohio. The donations to Vance alone weighed in at more than $15 million and helped the ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ author win the GOP Senate nomination.
The announcement this week places Thiel close to Kentuckian Nate Morris, the founder, and CEO of Rubicon, who was a former financial backer of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky.
However, it’s not politics Morris was talking about in his latest announcement of the partnership between the tech giants.
“We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Palantir, and we believe that it will take our data capabilities to the next level, enabling our customers and haulers partners to optimize their waste and recycling operations, save money, grow their businesses, and execute on their sustainability goals,” Morris said in a news release.
