The President and COO of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team is throwing his support behind a Kentucky Congressional candidate.
Billionaire Phil Castellini is hosting a fundraiser for Democratic 4th District Congressional candidate Matthew Lehman who is challenging Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie.
The fundraiser is taking place in Covington, Kentucky, by invitation.
Lehman is a tech and pharmaceutical entrepreneur. His company Koligo is a startup working to expand access to pancreatic islet transplants, reduce or eliminate opioid dependence and improve the quality of life for chronic pancreatitis. They are working to develop the next generation of modified cell transplant technologies.
Lehman has a Master of Science from Columbia University in New York, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He has grown and exited two other startup companies in the health technology space.
Massie is an MIT graduate who also exited a startup, but that’s likely where the similarities end between these two candidates. Massie is a self-defined Constitutional Conservative.
There’s a gigantic fundraising gap between the two facing off in the General Election in November. Massie has raised $841,000 through June. Lehman has raised $160,000 in the same time span.
